NEET 2024: An Overview
NEET 2024 examination will be conducted on May 5, 2024 which will be a pen-paper
based examination held across the country at different exam centres. More than 23,81,833 candidates have registered themselves for the NEET 2024 examination. For
qualifying the NEET examination the candidates requires minimum passing percentile laid
by NTA (National Testing Agency). The minimum qualifying percentile for general category
is 50th Percentile and for SC/ST/OBC the qualifying percentile is 40th Percentile. The
qualifying percentile for physically challenged candidates is 45th Percentile. NEET scores
matters the most for the medical admission in any medical colleges either in private or in
government.

An addition of 10,000 Medical seats in 2024-25
According to the Ministry of Health, the Central Government of India has approved the
plan of including 10,000 more seats in India. They want to raise the standard of medical
education in India by increasing med seats in India at all Undergraduate and Postgraduate
levels. In the past year 2014, the government has proposed the idea of adding 10,000
medical seats within five years. But according to the reports of RTI, only 920 medical seats
were added in the country.
